• FIFA is investigating after UEFA complained that a dossier criticising UEFA President Michel Platini was allegedly sent from FIFA headquarters to German and Swiss newspapers in early August. German newspaper Die Welt Am Sonntag alleges that the dossier was compiled by FIFA President, Joseph S. Blatter. In an interview with Dutch magazine De Volksrant over the weekend, Blatter alleged that Platini had made his brother cry by saying that unless Blatter withdrew from the FIFA Presidential race, he would go to prison.

Sir Craig Reedie, President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), has told CNN that WADA would consider banning countries whose athletes continually flout doping rules.

Julio Rocha, one of the seven FIFA officials arrested in Switzerland following a 47-count indictment issued by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) on 27 May, has been charged with money laundering and corruption offences in Nicaragua, reports the AFP.
