The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has announced that a powerlifter, two skiers and three weightlifters have been sanctioned for anti-doping rule violations (ADRV). Powerlifter Klyukin Fedor (Клюкина Федора) has been sanctioned with a two year ban for participating whilst disqualified, RUSADA announced. In September 2016, Fedor was sanctioned with a two year ban commencing on 1 October 2015.
RUSADA also confirmed that the Russian Ski Federation had sanctioned two athletes after they tested positive for prohibited substances. Vladimir Essensona (Эссенсона Владимира) and Maxim Milash (Милаша Максима) have both been sanctioned with four year bans.
RUSADA also confirmed that the Russian weightlifting federation has disqualified three athletes after they tested positive for prohibited substances. Said Asimova (Азимова Саида) and Svetlana Trofimova (Трофимову Светлану) have been sanctioned with four year bans, and Anthony Savchuk (Савчука Антония) has been sanctioned with a six month ban.
