The World Boxing Council (WBC) will introduce a new anti-doping programme at its 52nd Convention in Las Vegas, 14-20 December, in partnership with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). VADA is an independent, non-profit organisation founded by neurologist Margaret Goodman, former head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s Medical Advisory Board.
VADA uses an laboratory accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to conduct testing. It specialises in using Carbon Isotope Ratio (CIR) testing to determine whether testosterone is natural, or exogenous.
