Statement of PZKOL in connection with suspected violations of anti-doping rules by para cyclists

In connection with the suspected violation of anti-doping regulations by the cyclists involved in the cycling tandem, Bronze Medalists at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo Marcin Polak and Michał Ładosz, the Polish Cycling Association informs:

1. The above-mentioned competitors have valid licenses for 2021 issued by the Polish Cycling Association, as the Polish Cycling Association is the only organisation in Poland affiliated with the UCI and authorised to issue cycling licenses;
2. The organisation to which the above mentioned competitors are directly subject to is the Association of Physical Culture (OLIMP);
3. No coach of the Polish Cycling Association participates in the training of the above-mentioned competitors;
4. The above-mentioned competitors use the cycling track only on the basis of a term lease in Pruszków by the Association of Physical Culture (OLIMP).

The Polish Cycling Association, by issuing a racing license, places its confidence in the cyclists and expects sporting ethics from them. We are saddened by the information from the Polish Anti-Doping Agency about the suspected violation of anti-doping rules, and believe that there is no place in sport for such shameful practices.
