• Austrian billiards player Mario Yi Tong, who won the 8 ball tournament at the 2012 European Pool Championships, has been sanctioned with a four month ban after returning an adverse analytical finding (AAF) for hydrochlorothiazide. Tong’s sanction will run from the date of his 10 October out of competition test to 9 February 2019. Click here to download a statement from the Austrian anti-doping commission (ÖADR).

Malaysia has denied entry to Israeli swimmers due to compete in the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships, which takes place in Kuching from 27 July to 4 August, reports Ynet. A spokesperson for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) said that it is investigating the situation.

Alex Gilady, Vice Chair of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Coordination Commission for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has withdrawn a libel lawsuit after coming to an agreement with two reporters who accused him of sexual harassment, reports the Jerusalem Post. It is understood that agreement was reached following a mediation proceeding between the involved parties.
