• Aleksey Vlasenko (Алексея Власенко), President of Russia’s Synchronised Swimming, Diving, and Water Polo federations has been arrested on fraud charges, reports Sports.ru. The arrest has been confirmed by the Synchronised Swimming and Diving federations. Vlasenko is also Chairman of the international swimming federation’s (FINA) Diving Technical Committee; a member of the European Swimming League’s (LEN) Bureau; a member of the Russian Olympic Committee’s (ROC) Executive Committee; and a member of the Supreme Supervisory Board of the Russian swimming federation.
• Dilshod Nazarov has been sanctioned with a two year ban that will expire on 25 September 2021, after a retest of his sample given at the Daegu 2011 World Championships revealed an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) involving DHCMT (oral turinabol), the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced. The Tajik will lose the Gold he won in the hammer throw at the Pune 2013 Asian Games, as his results from 29 August 2011 to 29 August 2013 have been disqualified. Sebastian Coe, President of World Athletics, has called for Nazarov to resign as President of Tajikistan’s Athletics Federation, reports InsideTheGames. The AIU charged Nazarov in September 2019.
• Fifteen people, including eight former footballers, have been sentenced to prison for match-fixing, reports the Bangkok Post. It is understood that the accused were convicted of paying bribes relating to Thai Premier League matches in 2017.
