Two footballers, a water polo player, a volleyball player, a weightlifter and a judoka have been sanctioned for doping, the Saudi Arabian Anti-Doping Committee (SAADC) has announced. Two footballers and a water polo player were sanctioned with one year bans after reporting adverse analytical findings (AAFs) for amphetamine. The SAADC announced that Fahad Al-Mowallad (فهد المولد) of Al-Ittihad FC has been issued with a sanction, as has Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Subaie (محمد السبيعي) of Ettifaq FC. Water polo player Nayef Al-Montashari (نايف المنتشري) was sanctioned with a four year ban after testing positive for the same substance.
Weightlifter Issam Al-Shamrani (عصام الشمراني) was sanctioned with a four year ban. A statement revealed that he tested reported an AAF for dehydrochloromethyltestosterone and methandienone.
Abdulaziz Humaidan (عبدالعزيز حميدان), of Al-Hilal volleyball club was also sanctioned with a four year ban. A statement reveals that he reported an AAF for dehydrochloromethyltestosterone, prednisolone and prednisone. Judoka Saeed Srouji (سعيد سروجي) was sanctioned with an 18 month ban after returning an AAF for letrozole, a medication often used to treat breast cancer.
