The Russian Swimming Federation has issued a two-year ban to open water long-distance swimming Vladimir Dyatchin (pictured), confirmed the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) today. Dytatchin, a 10k open water World Champion in 2003 and 2007, will have his ban backdated to 4 July 2014.
A day later, the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) confirmed that Dyatchin had tested positive for Ostarine (class S.1.2, Other Anabolic Agents) on 30 June 2014. FINA has also released its 2014 Doping Case Report, which lists nine doping sanctions as having been issued in 2014. Cases range from cocaine to whereabouts failures.
