The International Biathlon Union was informed by the International Olympic Committee that re-testing of samples provided by the athlete Teja Gregorin, 37/Slovenia, collected during the Olympic Winter Games Vancouver 2010 resulted in Adverse Analytical Findings (AAFs). The IOC samples were collected on 6 and 7 February 2010 in Whistler. The B-Sample analysis confirmed the presence of a prohibited substance, namely, GHRP – 2 metabolite (GHRP – 2 – M2).

The IOC Disciplinary Commission will hear the case at the end of November. The NOC and the IBU are invited to be present at the IOC hearing. After the decision of the IOC Disciplinary Commission, the IBU’s Anti – Doping Hearing Panel will consider further action within its own competence, Art. 7.2 IBU Anti – Doping Rules.

Teja Gregorin, competed in the following competitions during the OWGs 2010: women’s individual event in which she ranked 36th, sprint event in which she ranked 9th, pursuit event in which she ranked 9th, mass start in which she ranked 5th and relay event in which she ranked 8th. The athlete is provisionally suspended by the IBU for any participation in international biathlon events as of immediately.
