The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has established a Probe Committee to investigate, after the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOA) confirmed that three medal winners had returned adverse analytical findings (AAFs) at the 2019 South Asian Games, hosted by Nepal. Mehboob Ali, who won Gold in the 400m hurdles, reported an AAF for oxandrolone metabolites, while Muhammed Naeem and Sami Ullah reported AAFs for metabolites of metandienone. Naeem won Gold in the 110m hurdles, and Ullah won Bronze in the 100m.

The Probe Committee will be comprised of five people. It will investigate whether the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has adequate doping control measures in place and if so, why they were breached. It will also examine the number of doping controls performed by AFP during the last three years, and ascertain if anyone other than the athletes should be held responsible for the AAFs. The Committee will finalise its findings by 25 September.
