Nadezhda Sergeeva is found guilty of an ADRV with trimetazidine – the Team OAR (Sergeeva/Kocherzhova) is disqualified from PyeongChang 2018

Following a request from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), joined by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF), the Anti-doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS ADD) at the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games issued the following partial award today:

Nadezhda Sergeeva (OAR, Women’s bobsleigh, ranked 12th), positive out-of-competition test with trimetazidine; the athlete has admitted the anti-doping rule violation; she is disqualified from the women’s bobsleigh event at the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018 and the results obtained by the team OAR Sergeeva/Kocherzhova at the same event are disqualified with all resulting consequences; the athlete is excluded from the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018; her accreditation shall be withdrawn; these proceedings shall continue before the CAS between the IBSF and the athlete after the end of the Games; the IOC is no longer a party to this procedure.

The athlete has accepted a provisional suspension beyond the period of the Games and reserved her “rights to seek the elimination or reduction of the ineligibility period” following the conclusion of the Games. The amendment of the official ranking of the women’s bobsleigh event is of the responsibility of the IBSF and the IOC.
