Following a request from the IOC Medical and Scientific Commission Games Group, the Anti-doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS ADD) at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games issued the following decisions today concerning two athletes who have already been suspended provisionally by the CAS ADD:

1) Kleber Da Silva Ramos (Brazil, cycling road race), positive test with EPO CERA; the athlete accepted a provisional suspension on a voluntary basis; he did not request a hearing. Final award: the athlete is disqualified and excluded from the Olympic Games Rio 2016; his accreditation shall be withdrawn; the responsibility for the athlete’s results management in terms of sanction beyond the Olympic Games Rio 2016 is referred to the International Cycling Union (UCI).

2) Xinyi Chen (China, swimming, 100m butterfly), positive test with hydrochlorothiazide (specified substance); the athlete accepted a provisional suspension on a voluntary basis; a hearing on the merits of the case was held on 17 August 2016. Final award: the athlete is disqualified from the Olympic Games Rio 2016; the responsibility for the athlete’s results management in terms of sanction beyond the Olympic Games Rio 2016 is referred to the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
