The Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) will hear Park Tae-hwan’s doping case on 27 February, the Korean Swimming Federation (KSF) told local media agency Yonhap today. FINA and the KSF have yet to make a statement on Park’s situation, after a statement from his agency, Team GMP, was widely reported in the media.
Team GMP’s reported statement blamed a positive test for testosterone in July last year on an injection given by a local hospital. It is understood that Team GMP is taking legal action against the Seoul hospital involved. Park took gold in the 400m freestyle at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
