Appeals by two Austrian athletes against anti-doping rule violations (ADRVs) issued by the country’s anti-doping rights commission (ÖADR) have been dismissed, the country’s Independent Arbitration Commission (USK) announced. The USK upheld (click here to download Decision) a two year ban from 29 October 2020 to 29 October 2022 issued to Martin Stockinger. The ÖADR sanctioned the cross country skier in 2020 for obtaining 12,000 IU (International Units) of erythropoietin (EPO) ‘at least twice’ between mid-2012 and mid-2014. 

The USK also upheld a 14 month ban from 8 April to 7 June next year issued against Romana Slavinec for an ADRV involving Fenoterol (click here to download Decision). The triathlete returned two adverse analytical finding (AAF – or ‘positive test’) on 19 February and 6 March at the World Triathlon Winter Cup. A statement issued by World Triathlon indicated that Slavinec had failed to apply for a valid therapeutic use exemption (TUE).
