A cyclist and an amateur athlete have been sanctioned for anti-doping rule violations (ADRVs), whilst another cyclist has been provisionally suspended following an adverse analytical finding (AAF – or ‘positive test’), Italy’s anti-doping agency (NADO Italia) announced. Masters cyclist Stefano Colagè, who has participated in eight Giros d’Italia and four Tours de France, has been sanctioned with a six month ban for an ADRV involving triamcinolone acetonide. Colagè returned an AAF at the National Amateur Open Road Championships on 13 June, when his ban will commence, expiring on 12 December. 

Amateur cyclist Luca Staccioli has been provisionally suspended after an AAF for testosterone. Staccioli reported his AAF from an in competition test at the Paesetto Trophy 3 in Bozzone on 18 August. Finally Anna Infantile, who is affiliated to amateur sport organisation Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI), has been sanctioned with a six month ban, expiring 5 December. She returned an AAF for betamethasone at the Trial Madonna di Sito Alto on 6 June, an event administered by the Italian athletics federation (FIDAL).
