The Disciplinary Commission dismisses a complaint against the Hungarian Federation and a coach

The Disciplinary Commission of the Gymnastics Ethics Foundation (GEF) has issued a decision regarding a complaint against the Hungarian Gymnastics Federation (HGF) and Mr Imre Draskoczy, the head coach of the Hungarian national team in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. The complaint had been submitted by a former elite Hungarian gymnast for alleged violations of duty of care, negligence and psychological abuse under the relevant FIG rules.

Following a detailed review of the case and after holding three separate hearings in the matter, the GEF Disciplinary Commission Panel, composed of Michelle Duncan, Matthias Scherer and Maximilien Lehnen, decided on 15 December 2020 as follows:

• The GEF complaint against Mr Draskoczy and the HGF is dismissed.
• Each party shall bear its own costs and expenses.
• All other costs of the proceedings, including those related to the independent investigation, shall be borne by the GEF.
