Triathlon Ireland and Sport Ireland today jointly announced that Ben Shaw has committed an anti-doping rule violation. Ben Shaw has accepted a period of ineligibility of 4 years commencing on the 22nd of July 2020. In an out of competition doping control test on July 22nd 2020, he provided a sample, which tested positive for the presence of a prohibited substance, LGD-4033 (ligandrol).
On the 5th of October Mr Shaw accepted the imposition of a 4 year ban and waived his right to a hearing. On the 15th of October 2020 Sport Ireland issued its reasoned decision to Mr Shaw pursuant to Article 7.6.4. The reasoned decision is available at www.sportireland.ie/anti-doping/sanctions
