• The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that it does not have any records of any procedures involving Russian politician Roman Khudyakov (Ромáн Худякóв). In 2017, Khudyakov told RSport that he had filed appeals against the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) November 2015 Decision to suspend the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) with the CAS. Sputnik News recently reported that the CAS had failed to respond to repeated requests, first filed in March, about whether Khudyakov had filed a lawsuit with the CAS. The Sports Integrity Initiative received a response from CAS after asking yesterday. 

• Benfica has confirmed that the club is under investigation for tax fraud. ‘It is in our best interest to urgently clarify now, publicly, that the legal imputation made and communicated is an alleged crime of tax fraud’, read a statement from the Portuguese club. ‘Nothing more’.

• FIFA has extended a ban imposed on 11 Vietnamese youth players for match-fixing worldwide, reports the Vietnam Express. The players were sanctioned by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in May.

• The Indian Supreme Court’s arbitration tribunal has upheld the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) termination of a broadcasting deal agreed with World Sport Group in 2010, reports SportBusiness. It is understood that the BCCI scrapped the ten year deal, agreed in 2008, due to concerns that fraudulent practices may have been involved.
