• Two rulings published by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) have underlined that athletes can test positive for prohibited substances through sexual intercourse with a partner. Boxer Virginia Fuchs was found not to be at fault for a 13 February adverse analytical finding (AAF) involving multiple substances, after USADA determined that her male partner was using therapeutic doses of the substances. In a similar ruling, softball player Madilyn Nickles was also cleared of a 3 March AAF for multiple substances for the same reason.
• Sanjita Chanu Khumukcham has been cleared of committing an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), and is seeking a six figure sum (US$) in compensation, reports InsideTheGames. The Indian weightlifter initially tested positive in November 2017 ahead of the Anaheim 2017 IWF World Championships. Khumukcham was provisionally suspended by the IWF on 13 May 2018, however her suspension was not lifted until January 2019. As a result, she missed out on qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
• The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that its ruling on Manchester City’s appeal against a two year ban imposed by UEFA for breaches of its Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations will be issued in mid July. The CAS hearing took place between 8 and 10 June.
