• The Pan American Sports Organisation (PASO) has confirmed that 15 athletes have returned adverse analytical findings (AAFs) at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, 0.72% of the 2,095 tests taken in connection with the Games. PASO said that 1,843 urine tests (1,348 in competition and 495 outside of competition) and 252 blood tests were taken. PASO provided details on seven cases against athletes that had been concluded – Audry Joel Perez (Oxandrolone); Kacio Fonseca da Silva (LGD – 4033); Osvaldo Manuel Abreu (Clenbuterol); Brian Cesar Paredes Vergara (Boldenone); Jean Francisco Pérez Faure (Chlorthalidone); Rafaela Silva (Fenoterol); and Narlyn Tathiana Mosquera Cordoba (Oxandrolone, Stanozolol).
• Briana Williams withdrew from the Doha 2019 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships on Friday, after being sanctioned with a reprimand following an adverse analytical finding (AAF) for hydrochlorothiazide. It is understood that Jamaica’s Independent Anti-Doping Panel (IADP) found that the sprinter bore no fault or negligence for her AAF, as she had been given tablets containing the diuretic by her guardian.

• The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) provisionally suspended Ahmed Al Kamali, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Athletics Federation, whom it banned from standing for election as Vice President at the recent IAAF Council meeting in Doha. Al Kamali was provisionally suspended for a ‘potential violation of the IAAF Candidacy Rules and Integrity Code of Conduct’, the AIU’s list of provisional suspensions reveals. Sebastian Coe was reelected as IAAF President last week, whilst Ximena Restrepo, Sergey Bubka, Geoffrey Gardner and Nawaf Bin Mohammed Al Saud were elected Vice Presidents. Restrepo becomes the first woman to serve as an IAAF Vice President.
Following an application by the AIU, the @iaaforg Disciplinary Tribunal has provisionally suspended Mr Ahmed Al Kamali of the UAE for potential violations of the IAAF Candidacy Rules and the Integrity Code of Conduct.
