Two Russian track and field athletes, two weightlifters, a wrestler and a boxer have been sanctioned for anti-doping rule violations (ADRVs). The Russian Athletics Federation (RusAF) announced that two athletes had been sanctioned with four year bans after they tested positive for meldonium. Marathon runner Vasily Minaev (Василия Минаева) was sanctioned with a four year ban, after returning an adverse analytical finding (AAF) on 22 August last year, and Aleksey Kiselev (Алексея Киселева), an 18 year old middle distance runner, was sanctioned after returning an AAF on 27 August.  

The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) confirmed that two weightlifters, a wrestler and a boxer have been sanctioned for ADRVs. Svetlana Hajiyeva (Гаджиеву Светлану), a two-time Russian champion, has been sanctioned with a two year ban, RUSADA announced. Abuev Magomed (Абуева Магомеда), who won Bronze in the 105kg category at the Kazan 2013 Winter Universiade, has also been sanctioned with a four year ban for ‘repeated’ violations of anti-doping rules. Vadim Aladzheva (Аладжева Вадима), a Greco-Roman wrestler, has also been sanctioned with a four year ban for two ADRVs. Super featherweight boxer Denis Lashin (Лашина Дениса) has also been sanctioned with a four year ban for an ADRV.
