Alexandr Godovanyuk, a Kazakh water polo player, has been sanctioned with a four year ban after returning an adverse analytical finding (AAF) for Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone, the international swimming federation (FINA) announced. Godovanyuk is listed on the 2018 Asian Games internet site as a member of the Kazakh water polo team, but is not listed as a member of the team that beat Japan 8-7 to secure gold, or as a member of any of the Kazakh teams that competed at the 2018 Asian Games.
As the Asian Games men’s water polo tournament took place from 25 August to 1 September, it is possible that Godovanyuk was deselected after his 10 July AAF. His sanction will run from 2 August 2018 until 1 August 2022.
