Czech national team footballer, Jakub Jankto, who plays for Italian club Udinese, has been issued with a reprimand due to an argument with a doping control official (DCO) after a match against Lazio. The Italian national anti-doping agency (NADO Italia) ruled that he had violated Articles 3.3 of the country’s anti-doping sports rules (Norme Sportive Antidoping – click here to download), and therefore penalties under Article 7.3 are applicable.
Article 3.3 allows anti-doping organisations (ADOs) to sanction an athlete for ‘offensive conduct’ towards a DCO, if that conduct does not fall within the definition of tampering with the doping control, or hindering the work of the DCO, for which a four year ban is applicable. Article 7.3 allows the ADO to set its sanction for a violation of Article 3.3 from a minimum of a reprimand to a maximum of six months.
