The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) received two appeals from classical violinist Vanessa Mae (Vanakorn) yesterday. Mae has appealed against the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) decision to annul her Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic results and ban her for four years.
Mae has appealed against the 6 November decision of the FIS Hearing Panel to annul four ladies giant slalom races, which it alleges were manipulated to ensure that Mae qualified for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. She is also appealing an 18 November FIS Council decision to annul her 2014 Winter Olympic results. She is seeking the annulment of both decisions. The CAS media release is available here.
