Sports Integrity Briefs – 16 January 2018

• The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) said it would provide an update on the Russian Paralympic Committee’s (RPC) suspension on 29 January. A press conference will be held in Bonn, Germany, as to whether the RPC has met the criteria required for it to be reinstated in time for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.

• The Serbian rugby league federation has sanctioned Nikolu Vasića with a two year ban after he returned an adverse analytical finding (AAF) for cocaine. Vasića tested positive after the Serbian Championship play-off final on 29 November last year, reported the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia (AARS).

• The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has provisionally suspended eight people after samples indicated the presence of prohibited substances in six horses. The horses tested positive at an Endurance Horse event in Abu Dhabi, an eventing competition in India and an Endurance Horse event in Italy.
